Queridos blogOuvintes, antes de tudo, eu queria lembrá-los que apesar de quarentona, esta BJ é moderna e vanguardista e que o teor da nossa programação, se tem sido tendencioso para a nostalgia... é fruto da escolha de vocês, que COMANDAM este meu dial. Portanto, os que aqui entram e se assustam um pouco com seleções meio "das antigas", por favor, lembrem que a escolha é toda de VOCÊS. É só pedir rock, que eu ponho rock. Uma vez lançadas as devidas justificativas para um conteúdo tão diversificado e eclético, vamos ao pedido da vez. Você está escutando aí ao fundo "Total Eclipse of the Heart", com BONNIE TYLER, um pedido de Paula Santos, que passa ao nosso hall de novos blogOuvintes com pedidos atendidos! A escolha de Bonnie Tyler por uma blogueira que me parece ser jovem (não tive como confirmar porque o seu blog parece estar desativado...?!) pela mensagem deixada no Fórum, confesso que me deixou curiosa... Afinal Bonnie fez parte da banda B dos anos 80 com alguns grandes sucessos pop como "It's a heartache" e este que ela escolheu, mas sem grande fôlego na carreira, depois que alguns anos se passaram. Hesitante entre o rock comercial e as baladas, esta cantora nascida no País de Gales, em 51, (portanto, hoje com 52 anos), já foi considerada a rainha brega da era Disco, desde o seu "estilo" - motoqueira que migrou para a pose de diva, com penteados pra lá de Dolly Parton - até o seu repertório (veja alguns vídeos + discografia). Mas os sucessos melosos estiveram presentes em filmes (um exemplo é a música Holding Out For a Hero, que fez parte da trilha sonora do filme Footlose) e com certeza nas trilhas de novelas, através das quais se tornou famosa no Brasil. Vale conferir seu site oficial pra lembrarmos bem de quem estamos falando aqui. Não era das minhas favoritas, mas houve quem gostasse e muito!

Acho que o detalhe mais interessante sobre esse hit da década de 80, é que a música foi recentemente revisitada pelo próprio autor, o roqueiro Jim Steinman, para o musical Dance of Vampires, baseado no filme Dança dos Vampiros, de Roman Polansky, e a interpretação de Tyler que marcou tão profundamente a canção foi comemorada pelo trio (ela, Polansky e Steinman) e o elenco da peça, num encontro inesquecível. Depois de colher os louros da sua preferência expressa e tirar uma semana inteirinha de folga (BJ também precisa descansar..rs...) pra comemorar, voltamos com pique total, para homenagear uma das grandes figuras do jazz, infelizmente já no céu das Vozes Provilegiadas, mas com certeza pra sempre na nossa memória, nos nossos corações e presença garantidamente constante também no nosso CD player: Ella Fitzgerald. Quando alguém pede um jazz eu fico muito contente porque, em geral, é no Jazz que a gente encontra a maioria dessas vozes e interpretações que atravessam a barreira do tempo para nos encantar sempre. Ella, ao lado de Billy Hollyday e Sarah Vaughn é considerada até hoje uma das mais-mais entre as divas do Jazz. Nosso planetinha a perdeu em 1996, infelizmente, e muitas vêm tentando ocupar o seu lugar ainda sem sucesso. Leia um pouco de sua difícil história de vida AQUI.
